Opening the day’s proceedings, Carl Ward, immediate past president of the Association of School and College Leaders (ASCL), issued a rallying cry to assembled educators and employers.
He implored them to work closely together to improve careers guidance for our young people, citing teachers as the ‘connectors’ linking students and employers.
About Carl Ward
Carl is chief executive of the City Learning Trust, a partnership of schools covering approximately 6,000 students, aged 3-19, in Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire.
A teacher for 23 years, he has worked for the past 15 as a senior leader across four schools and as executive principal of Haywood Academy and Mill Primary Academy for the past four. He is immediate past president of ASCL.
