Problem solving – the process of finding solutions to difficult or complex issues – is a universal job skill that applies to any position and to every industry and sector.
The best problem solvers actively anticipate potential future problems and are able to use logic and imagination to come up with solutions. They are able to collaborate effectively to do this, where necessary.
The following lesson by Barclays LifeSkills is designed to help students (aged 16-19) gain an understanding of two enterprise skills – problem solving and opportunity spotting. By the end of this lesson students will be able to:
- understand how these skills can be used to resolve a variety of situations
- understand what the two key enterprise skills of problem solving and opportunity spotting mean and be able to put them into practice.
The lesson features an animation with top tips to help students approach and solve problems.
